There are several ways you can contribute to each of our programs. You can simply mail a check payable to “Deep Springs College” to the address at the bottom of this page. You can include an optional donation form, but it’s not required. When you make a donation, please indicate the intent of your gift. Pledge forms for the endowment are available here.
Below are alternative ways you can contribute to Deep Springs, as well:
Donations Online
Deep Springs can now accept online credit card donations, via two options.
Go to our DONATE page.
Select the Donate button there and follow instructions for making a credit card gift. (The credit card transaction fee is 2.5% so if you’d like to help us out, ‘boost’ your gift by 2.5%.) You can make a gift without creating an account, or you can create a login account to view your complete personal gift history at Deep Springs. Contributions go directly to Deep Springs, and you will receive a tax receipt from us.
OR
Visit our page on Network for Good. Follow the online instructions to set up a giving account, including donation amount and frequency and credit card information. You will be able to edit these details at any time by returning to the site. You can monitor your contributions and obtain tax receipts directly via your Network for Good account.
Bequests and Planned Giving
L.L. Nunn made the first planned gift to Deep Springs when he established his Trust to benefit the College. Scores of other donors have done so since. In the past decade alone Deep Springs has received over $6 million from bequests. You can join the L.L. Nunn Legacy Society by naming Deep Springs as a beneficiary in your will, trust, or life insurance policy. If you do so, we would like to know about it as it helps us plan for the future. Download a Planned Gift Notification form to complete and send to our office. See the notification form for details.
The college is not certified to administer direct annuities for donors, but you may establish an annuity with any of a number of financial institutions, naming Deep Springs as the final beneficiary.
Stocks and Securities
You may be able to save on your taxes by gifting appreciated shares directly to Deep Springs. For transfer instructions, contact Deep Springs development officer Kerrie Coborn at klcoborn@deepsprings.edu. We will then provide you with our necessary investment account information. You can provide that information to your broker or financial institution, then let us know (a) the stock transfer donor, (b) date of transfer, (c) amount of transfer, and (d) the intent of the donation (i.e. endowment, annual giving, or specific capital fund).
We need to go through these steps in order for us to correctly track your donation. Deep Springs holds its investment accounts with State Street Global Markets in Boston, MA.
Matching Gift Contributions
Please ask your employer or organization for information on matching gift eligibility and program limitations. Many companies have conjoined foundations to match charitable giving by their employees. If your company has such a program, please name Deep Springs College in the gift matching documentation.
Contributions of Goods or Services
For an in-kind gift, please contact our office with a description and value of the gift, and how to take delivery. Please visit our “Academic Facilities” page to learn more about donating materials to our library.
Memorial Donations
Targeted donations to Deep Springs can be made in honor of or in memory of someone special. We welcome and greatly appreciate such remembrances – and we’re honored to duly record them in our annual report.
