In 100 years, fewer than 1,200 students have matriculated to Deep Springs. Given our small size, the make-up of the Student Body can change dramatically from year to year. Statistics must be viewed in context, as they will no doubt continue to change. Nonetheless, we have compiled data from the past five years to give a recent perspective on admitted students.
The Applications Committee (ApCom) receives between 180 and 315 applications each year. Of those prospective students, 14 are invited to enroll and up to 10 are added to a wait-list. Our goal is to have 14 students in each matriculating class.
Despite its small size, Deep Springs is a diverse community. In the past five years, 30% of Deep Springs students have been people of color. More than 11% of students have identified as LGBT. International students have made up about 20% of the Student Body.
Deep Springs is committed to equal opportunity in employment and admissions. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual preference, religion, financial status, or gender.
